There are many 3D printing companies around, but here at Systems 3D we like to think we go the extra mile with our services. We’re always on the lookout for innovative ways to enhance our knowledge and skills and we’re always excited to try something new. Humanoid Robots have featured in science fiction movies for decades, but now they are a matter of reality. In fact, humanoid robots can be built and assembled by the average person – through the support of 3D printing technology.

Directly quoted from his website:  “Gael Langevin is a French sculptor and designer. He works for the biggest brands since more than 25 years.

InMoov is his personal project, it was initiated in January 2012 as the first Open Source prosthetic hand, it has lead to projects like Bionico, E-Nable, and many others.  InMoov is the first Open Source 3D printed life-size robot.”  http://inmoov.fr/

Robotics and 3D Printing

Like many 3D printing companies we want to be able to extend our services and capabilities as much as possible. With this in mind, we are delighted to be working with Coventry University Mechanical Engineering Student, Kevon Kelley. In conjunction with Kevon, we’ll be marrying the 2 technologies; Robotics and 3D Printing.

With over 600 components Kevon and Systems 3D have been printing these components with our highly accurate industrial 3D printers. After careful consideration, we decided to print them in ASA  – Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate. ASA is a thermoplastic used to 3D print highly aesthetic and accurate parts. It is commonly used in applications which are suitable for end use both indoors and outdoors, and for consumer and commercial applications.
