About Systems 3D Group Ltd

Systems 3D Group was founded in Kenilworth in 2015 by Chad M. Spaeth.

Chad has over 30 years experience in metal fabrication and manufacturing along with over 15 years experience in working with metal-working and machinery of all types. Systems 3D is focused on digital and CNC manufacturing processes. This involves both machinery, software, and programming the machines.

Working with the 2D processes of digitizing images the power of basic CNC machining became apparent and especially for small to mid-sized manufacturers. While working with the 2D operations, Chad started to get involved in 3D processes also. Working for a prominent worldwide machinery manufacturer and distributor Chad came across a constant need for replacement parts and spares.

The distributor offers over 500 different machines in its product line-up, it was impossible to have every part for every tool to hand just waiting for the event when a piece would need replacing. The investment would have been huge, and the cost of carrying a stock of spares would also be huge. Chad sought out alternative manufacturing methods to enhance customer service, reduce the need to hold a large variety of spares, reduced the lead times, and eliminate the need for air freighting parts around the world.

Upon finding 3D printing and reading about it, Chad was skeptical that such a process could produce functional and sound parts. So, Chad started researching and visiting many trade shows concluding Additive Manufacturing was the future of manufacturing. Chad then invested in a 3D Printer and upon printing out the first component he instantly became excited and started Systems Group Ltd.

As things progressed, Systems 3D invested in more and larger 3D printers.

It became apparent that many digital 3D models were already offered in the marketplace, but many of them were of inferior quality. Customers also wanted available models modified, or they wanted bespoke models. Customers also wanted objects reproduced where they had only the original component, but they had no digital data. Or they had 2D technical drawings and no original part but wanted the object reproduced. To answer this market Systems 3D Group invested in High-Resolution Digital scanners and software to facilitate manipulation of all file types and assist with reverse engineering processes.
